All roads have reopened and residents who evacuated when the Wilmington Ice dam broke Wednesday morning have been allowed back in their homes. Two dozen fire and police departments assisted during the flash flood that developed when the ice began to move about 5am. No one was injured. Water levels at Wilmington dropped 7 feet in just a few hours. Meanwhile, on the eastern side of the river a fluctuating water level Wednesday resulted in a couple of road closures in Aroma Park. Those roadways have now open after the water receded overnight. This morning’s National weather Service reading at Momence shows the river has fallen about two feet in the last day or so.
