2019 Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony

The reading of the roll, the playing of taps, the 21 gun salute…all part of the 2019 Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony held Thursday morning at the memorial on the Kankakee County Courthouse Lawn.
KCC Professor of Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement and retired State Police Trooper Bridget Bertrand-Essington was the keynote speaker for the event. She said she was honored to be able to deliver yesterdays keynote speech
The memorial honored the 15 officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty in Kankakee county, from Kankakee Police Officer August Dickman in 1913 to Bradley Police Sergeant Wil Lewis in 1997.
