The long planned, but never built 3rd Chicago Area Airport at Peotone may have a real shot this time according to a transportation expert at DePaul University in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune reports Professor Joe Schwieterman says E-commerce companies like Amazon could make the facility viable. The project seemed to get new life after JB Pritzker was elected Governor. Schwieterman notes the state is moving in that direction. This year’s state budget included 162 million dollars for improvements from I-57 to the airport site, along with an environmental review.
