A Love’s Truck stop might be in Grant Parks Future. The company has petitioned the village for a five acre, six to eight pump fueling island where Route one meets Route 17. First, the company needs village officials to agree to a zoning change from agricultural to commercial. The Daily Journal reports that if approved the complex could be up and running later this year. Those opposed to the project fear it will bring more traffic and noise to the area along with drug use and prostitution. Those in favor say it could mean an addition 60 to 75 thousand dollars for Grant Park every year with the funding dedicated to village road improvements.
