Unemployment is Down Again in Kankakee

The unemployment rate in Kankakee continues to fall.  The Illinois Department of Employment Security puts the number last month at 4.2 percent, that’s down from 4.6 percent in May of last year.   The highest jobless rate in the state is in Danville, the lowest is in Bloomington and Chicago areas.Read More »

Morocco Fire Ruled Accidental

The cause of a June 16th home fire in the 400 block of North Clay Street in Morocco, Indiana has been ruled accidental in nature.  The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office says a faulty air condition is to blame for the blaze that damaged a bedroom and sent smoke throughout the house.  No one was hurt.Read More »
